Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta 1993: A ProCreations® Poster
Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta 1993: A ProCreations® Poster
1993
by Ralph Chabaud
Fifteenth in the series by Ralph Chabaud. This poster is recognized for a number of firsts: It is the first Fiesta poster created as a true diptych (two-part poster available as a unit or individually) with each half forming a complete image, with both creating an interlocking totality; it was the first time gas balloons were portrayed, in honor of the Fiesta's hosting of the 37th Gordon Bennett classic. It is a thoroughly modern image yet curiously reminiscent of art produced when the Gordon Bennett race was first run in the late 19th century. With its fine gold lettering, this poster is right up there with the classics of '79, '86 and '90.
