Remembering Dr. John
We mourn the passing of a New Orleans legend. Dr. John brought the music-in-your-soul that percolates through our streets to the world. His repertoire spanned more than a century, making and remaking everything he produced, arranged, played and sang fresh and relevant. His natural cool was reflected in Michalopoulos' knowing 1998 Jazz Fest poster portrait. Mac Rebennack was the only living member of the front five greats pictured on the 50th anniversary 2019 Jazz Fest poster when that print was published.
He will be missed.
