2002
by Mark Pacan

Twenty-fourth in the series by Mark Pacan. Balloonists world-wide have collected the work of British artist Mark Pacan for over two decades. When he agreed to accept our commission, we saw an opportunity to collaborate with the world's premier balloon artist. The result is a timeless allegory combining a sky dense with balloons, a desert in bloom and a traveler wrapped in the three great cultures that inhabit this ancient land. This is what snow looks like in Albuquerque in October through the eyes of an avid balloonist. A blue-jeaned figure walks through a smooth desert landscape, warmed by a traditional Navajo blanket and shielded from the sun (or is it the balloon deluge?) by an equally vintage Anglo invention: The steel ribbed umbrella. The artist's use of hyper-realistic color envelopes the overall concept, adding an inviting patina to the dreamy Magritte-esque scene. This original serigraph harkens back to the classic posters produced by ProCreations at the very beginning of this series.
